X-Adapt

“Developing a physical product can be challenging, especially when it comes to early capital. The SBDC helped me receive a grant to cover the cost of prototypes and equipment. This, paired with the diverse selection of workshops and mentorship, gave me the con”dence to execute as a solo founder.” – Evan Lalanne, CEO

X-Adapt is working to increase accessibility for people with disabilities by adapting mobility devices. CEO, Evan Lalanne, set out to start X-Adapt when he witnessed and felt the lack of accessible mobility devices in the market that delivered the quality he desired. Lalanne originally began modifying mobile devices for personal use, “rst modifying a hoverboard to allow him to ride it with his wheelchair. Lalanne appeared on The Ellen DeGeneres show in 2020 to discuss his modi”ed skateboard invention, which went viral after videos of Lalanne using it on his wheelchair surfaced. Since then, he has been working on more workable prototypes of modi”ed mobility devices.
